Sushi Maki In Casarano

I already knew SushiMaki from having gone there a couple of times. However, I hadn't been there for a few years so I took advantage of the opening in the new location to return. The place is very nice and maintains the style of the prexma one with a larger environment and I think also a few more tables. The setting is like if the previous one had remained, that would be a very positive thing for me. You choose from a classic menu and then the order is made using a tablet, which is also familiar to those who have had the chance to go to Japan and other Southeast Asian countries. The choice is definitely wide, but we already had an idea of ​​what we wanted to eat. We had a mixed tempura and then the ramen. The tempura is excellent and, respecting Japanese tradition, it is really light. The ramen is good, with a fair number of ingredients inside including the egg. The taste was not very intense, I think it was slightly more suited to local palates, but it is certainly a pleasant dish. We also tried the desserts, the mochi and an ice cream which we appreciated. What differentiates SushiMaki from other places? Definitely the owners and the staff in general: all very kind and ready to help you if you are new to Japanese cuisine. Another strong point is the quality of the raw materials, certainly of a high level. Then there is a factor that many other places don't have: the owner's wife, who also works in the place, is Japanese and you can hardly find a person who knows Japanese cuisine better than her. One final clarification: this is not an all-you-can-eat restaurant, also because there are no Japanese restaurants that are all-you-can-eat, and this is further confirmation that we are dealing with a real Japanese restaurant.

In Salento there are very few places like Sushi Maki! Products made on the spot: all the rolls were very soft and the taste was well defined, for each raw material used, (not like the various hard and stringy all-you-can-eat ones). The prices are normal for a fresh product! The fried foods are also very tasty and light. To finish with typical Japanese desserts, such as sponge cake with azuky or black sesame ice cream😋 accompanied by good 9° plum liqueur. Gianni, the owner is really kind and helpful together with his wife, originally from Tokyo, intent on making the various fresh rolls. Very recently in the new, minimal and clean headquarters. They also work a lot with takeaways in the various areas of Salento. I will definitely be back to try their ramen!

Un’esperienza del gusto dai sapori originali del sol levante. Gianni e Makiko hanno saputo ricreare un meraviglioso piccolo angolo del Giappone nel cuore del Salento. Hanno conquistato me e soprattutto la mia bimba che non vede l’ora di “ordinare giapponese”. Bravissimi e super consigliati!!!

Ristorante di sushi figlio dell'amore tra un italiano e la sua compagna di vita giappomese. Il cibo è fresco e preparato con cura, quello che si vede in modo evidente è la passione e l'amore per il proprio lavoro. Il locale è molto essenziale. Pulizia, gentilezza e cortesia, prezzi assolutamente onesti. Lo consiglio, sarete trattati come difficilmente accade in giro!
