If like me you love home cooking without frills, this is the place for you

Old tavern in San Lorenzo in via Tiburtina. I took spaghetti with clams, mussels and cherry tomatoes. Excellent. House white wine, coffee and bitters. Good price. If you want to experience the atmosphere of old Roman taverns, this is the right place. Highly recommended.

Osteria as it once was: family atmosphere, clean and courteous, genuine flavours, honest prices, varied, inviting menu, tasty and quality classic dishes. Accustomed to exteriority and appearance, here we found content and warmth, I felt at home. We will be back soon. Highly recommended!

More than a lunch it is a journey through time. The Roman trattoria is now almost unobtainable, relegated to the caverns and alleys of a dying Rome. Marble on the walls, minimal furniture bordering on non-existent with many kitsch ornaments, deer antlers, ceramic mugs, black and white photos, memories of who knows who or taken from who knows where... And in any case the dust of time as a testimony . Old waiters, sad as expected, open kitchen and the elderly owner checking that everything runs smoothly... Home cooking, what mum used to do... No gourmet plating or refinements. The certainty of eating well while spending the right amount. Don't expect anything else... For us Romans over 60 it's a little paradise, for everyone else I don't know...

This cosy little restaurant may not have fancy decor but it offers fantastic tasting food. Also bread is free and no service charge magically appears in the bill like so many other Rome restaurants. Fettuccine with mushroom and Ravioli were both fantastic, served steaming hot. The scaloppine sauce was so tasty, and the potato was cooked so perfectly, sadly now no other restaurants I tried came close. I would totally return if I had more days in Rome, especially with a lower price point compared to others.

It should be protected as a DOCG trattoria. Optimal.

In questo locale, appena si entra si respira il fascino dell'osteria di una volta. Qui il tempo pare essersi fermato, ed è un piacere fare un pasto senza pretese e dai sapori semplici. Lo consiglio a chi ha voglia di un luogo semplice e informale dove sentirsi "a casa". Prezzi abbastanza bassi.

Spartana, trattoria tipica di un tempo. Pulizia e cortesia non mancano. Prezzi da pre covid e ucraina. Con 30€ ho mangiato un discreto antipasto della casa fatto di verdure gratinate e arrostite, abbacchio alla scottadito con patate arrosti. Mezzo litro di rosso. Amaro offerto. Che vuoi di piu dalla vita?
