The food is as good as the price

What can I say, it‘s a must-visit! Even when you‘re in Livorno for only a short time. Just don‘t get discouraged by the waiting line, expect that nobody will speak English and expect some very local food ;-) We were in Livorno only for a few hours as we came by train and were going to take the boat to Palermo. We found this restaurant as it was quite close to the station. As it was full on a friday afternoon (!), they said it would take 10 minutes so we decided to wait. We were almost about to leave, when luckily a spot opened up. Once inside, we noticed that most people were senior. We found out (by the Italian English teacher next to us, as nobody will be able to speak English to you) that it is a special place where especially senior people love to go, and that the quality is absolutely amazing and extremely cheap. We finished our bottle of wine, had an absolutely amazing fish soup, then i ordered a steak which was very juicy and tender, and my girlfriend ordered cuddlefish in a sauce she didn‘t like so much particularly (which we both agree was a matter of taste, not a mistake by the chef). At the end, they offer you a piece of fruit. All for just around 16 Euro (if I‘m not mistaken). Super friendly people, a place most tourists would not go to, but it was especially the atmosphere and overall experience that made it an unforgettable event. Everybody was looking at us, so it might have been interesting for them as well! :D

Un posto semplice ma accogliente,personale gentile e disponibile anche se siamo arrivati quasi a fine turno.Ottimi i primi,la trippa sembrava quella cucinata dalla mamma.. eccellente.Ci torneremo sicuramente che ci siamo sentiti come a casa.Grazie.

Trattoria no frills, un plauso al rapporto qualità prezzo, locale e bagno puliti, si respira un'aria livornese oramai persa in altri luoghi, menù ristretto e a voce (come piace a me) Tanto per fare un esempio, venerdì, oltre ai primi piatti classici, minestra di pesce, eseguita "ammodo" con una ciuffata di bavette, un secondo a scelta, io ho preso un cacciucchino di seppie con contorno di barbe (rape) rosse, una boccia di rosso onesto ,un' acqua minerale, e anche un frutto a scelta, il tutto a 15. What else?
