Tre Fontane In Spoleto

15/12/2023: Avrei dato 4,5 punti su 5 perché mezzo punto lo toglierei al locale molto anonimo però alla ragazza che ci ha seguito (la nipote della titolare)ed al suo collega darei un 5,5 su 5 per un servizio efficiente,sorridente e gentile…perciò i 5 punti sono matematici perché poi il cibo vale il massimo dei voti. Antipasto della casa con salumi,bustrengo e crostini molto gustoso come altrettanto sfiziosa era la frittata con tartufo bianco bello saporito. Mia moglie ha preso degli ottimi gnocchi al ragù bianco di chianina mentre io ho potuto deliziarmi con un filetto di maiale con pancetta tenero e saporito. Buona la zuppa inglese mentre i tozzetti li ho trovati un po’ duretti (forse sono la loro caratteristica visto il nome). Oltre al vino della casa in caraffa c’è una discreta carta di vini umbri a prezzi migliori rispetto ad altre strutture poco lontane(parlo dello stesso vino pagato 20 euro qui contro i 25 della sera precedente). Cane accolto con una bella ciotola d’acqua. Grazie. Bella serata.

10/08/2023: In Italy there is a programme where a chef visits four restaurants in an area, and there is a competition between them. This place was the winner for Gubbio. I chose it not because the restauant won, but because the owner came across as a really nice person, passinate about her local produce. We discovered that she is exactly like that, the service is friendly, you feel like you are eating at home. I would recommend eating inside, the place is in the heart of the countryside, so in the evening there will be loads of insects. The owner's mother is the cook, so you really get the feeling you are eating the real dishes of Gubbio, there is nothing cheffy about this place. I had the frittata with truffles, because it was the last meal in Umbria, I don't really like truffles, but I didn't want to leave without tasting some, and it was really good. I would also recommend the chicken fricò. It is a local dish, chicken cooked with a tomato sauce. The chickens are their own, so they are a bit tougher than shop bought chicken, but delicious. If you fancy taking a trip out of the town I really would recommend it. It also has self-catering rooms, swimming pool, so you can even stay there, and I think it must be a very pleasant experience.
