Had a great time there. Passed the restaurant while going to the leaning Tower of Pisa. On our way back thought why not. The place is really small, so great to start a conversation with the people on the next table. Met a lovely couple from Sardinia. This one man show was fantastic. Chef, owner, front of staff and entertainer. The food was simple and home cooked. Had the tortellini with spinach and cheese and the Vel escalope with Parma. Also enjoyed the live entertainment. Fantastic. Don't expect frills. Take it as it comes.

Pleasant discovery! We had lunch at the "Triclinivm Taverna Romana" yesterday afternoon with 3 people. We ordered a variety of first courses, carbonara, gricia, richotta and spinach ravioli and finally a taste of the "spaghetto all'enogarum" (space!!!!). While waiting for the first courses, we had some wine and a hot toast with oil and raw ham, excellent bread and the other ingredients also excellent. Excellent food, one dish better than the other.
Cozy place and family atmosphere, like in "taverns", very kind, helpful and friendly owner; it is clear that in every dish that is prepared there is passion for the work that is done!
If you are in Pisa, I recommend you stop in this place for an excellent lunch or dinner!
We will definitely be back, see you soon!

We were near the restaurant at lunchtime and we went to try it guided by the good reviews, I called first to make sure, seeing that people said it was very small and with very small they fell short, there were 2-3 tables outside and 4 tables Inside, fortunately he saved a table for me for a few minutes. The place is very peculiar, it looks like a real Roman tavern due to the state of the place, but the food was good and the owner was very friendly and helpful, there was no one else in the establishment and as he explained to us he had had a technical problem and was waiting for them to come to solve it, so they could only offer us spaghetti carbonara or amatriciana. We chose the carbonara and it was really good, the wine is the same as ever, he fills the glass container with the wine he has in bulk and it wasn't bad at all. Very curious place and very peculiar owner, fun, a good experience. Quality/price very good, we didn't try desserts because we were in a bit of a hurry.

Had dinner last night with two people. Very suggestive environment, like an ancient Roman cave, with various paintings and various furnishings depicting ancient Rome. Fabulous first courses, I had an imperial carbonara and a truly delicious cacio e pepe, you could feel the top quality ingredients and pasta as well as of course the owner's skill in the kitchen. Second courses include two Roman saltimbocca accompanied by artichokes which are also truly excellent. I also had an artisanal tiramisu made by the owner and it was also top notch.
What can I say, a very pleasant evening, excellent food and the manager of the place is a kind and friendly person, who entertains you by explaining the gastronomic history of the dishes and also talking a little about his life... We will definitely be back!
