We tasted all the specials of the day (focaccia, rice, potatoes and mussels, meatballs in bread and aubergine parmigiana) an infinite delicacy... Michele and Angie number 1, friendly and smiling, a welcoming and familiar environment. If you pass by Altamura you cannot miss going to the Antico Forno di Santa Caterina.

A little more sympathy is great

We stumbled upon this bakery by chance... through a local gentleman who is there, Mr Severino certainly pointed it out, we were overwhelmed by a scent that I can't describe. Inside the oven you can breathe an air of other times, a pleasant leap into the past. The very kind owner. He honored us with sweets... it was a great pleasure to have lunch. I hope to return soon to be able to taste everything I wasn't able to try...

Arm yourself with a lot of patience... but it's worth it, queuing actually helps you socialize with people you don't know, so wonderful interactions are created.

Yesterday, Easter Monday, we couldn't have had a better idea (all those like me who thought the same thing) than to go to Altamura to the ancient Santa Caterina oven. What to say: only 4 hours in line waiting to access the oven before purchasing and taste focaccias. I don't know if it's the first time that the owners or those who work there and organize have found themselves in front of a lot of people.. ... I hope so because, to put it simply, the organizer is terrible. It's not a criticism but it's constructive advice to improve the service. You can't wait that long....there's too much downtime.

Today on Easter Monday we entered this spectacular bakery. Bread is wonderful, but I give 4 stars because the blonde lady who served at the counter gave me wrong information about biscuits with almonds, selling me these biscuits as being made with almond flour but this is not the case. They are good, but quite hard, certainly not biscuits but sweets to eat with vin santo and not even a grain of almond flour but only type 00. There are almonds and the cost is also 5 euros! Not much I would say. Friendly staff, but the lady should be trained on the products she sells rapidly. Of course I have no doubt that you also have that product, it's not a question of money, of course
