Let me start by saying that I was thinking of having lunch in the first area of the Hosteria del pig, but instead they placed us in a fake part which was more like a tavern than a tavern.... recovered as needed at the last moment. Good but not excellent cured meat with a strolghino so tender that it seemed to have been made tomorrow morning....The first courses were very good, though. Even the young waiters seemed a little confused, stunned by the noisy group next to us who surely thought they were at a football match. ....In conclusion, I would like to return to understand if a place that has been praised so much has stumbled upon a sad day (NOT it can happen!) but which has all the qualities to improve in all aspects

Temple of Parma gastronomy, at the Corte dei Pallavicini you can enjoy the best of Verdi's lands, both as a popular proposal (here at the Hosteria) and as haute cuisine (the starred restaurant opposite in the same courtyard); in both the wisdom and care of the Spigaroli chef team.
Their selection of culatello and other cured meats is fantastic with a delicious giardiniera; their lasagna is legendary, rightly known throughout the world; succulent braised meat with polenta. All washed down with a nice glass of Carlo Verdi red.
The desserts are also excellent (the tart with bitter oranges and the tiramisu), made - as with everything else - with products from their wonderful vegetable garden and livestock farms.
The environment is very rustic and convivial.
The service was very courteous, even if with some small (and very forgivable) errors.
The bill was completely honest.

Location fantastica Regno della Fam. Spigaroli , buona accoglienza anche se non avevamo prenotato, mangiato ovviamente il Culatello servito in dosi generose su simpatici taglieri sopraelevati,poi dei gnocchi di pane con un gradevole soffritto di pomodoro. Vino: la miglior Fortana del Taro mai bevuta, l’unica stranezza che mi ha veramente infastidito un pane quasi dolce tipo pan Brioche adeguato il conto.

Locale molto caratteristico inserito nel complesso dell’antica corte pallavicina. La cucina è tipica del territorio con salumi di ottima qualità. Sicuramente i piatti sono buoni ma forse dal contesto mi aspettavo qualcosa di più. Sicuramente è una mia impressione che probabilmente non corrisponde alla realtà. Ho frequentato altri locali nei dintorni e questo mi era stato decantato. Come succede spesso quando le aspettative sono alte , quando riscontri una cucina non diversa dalle altre tendi ad essere leggermente deluso. Comunque ritornerò e comunque lo consiglio . Buoni i vini consigliati come il servizio ed il conto.

Characteristic, with farmers' tools hanging, lamps made with demijohns. Food costs 0 because they breed, have a vegetable garden, wine, jams, etc.

I had dinner at the tavern last night; I found excellent food (charcuterie platter to try absolutely, super bit of parmesan, first and second courses truly spectacular). Very friendly and competent service. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Definitely worth trying again.
