Honestly, we got so lucky that this restaurant was open and welcomed us. The reviews on Google are breathtakingly unfair.
The service is by a local family, beloved by the locals, and yet absolutely welcoming to us as foreigners. We speak no Italian, yet our hostess was willing to help us in English and even gave us excellent recommendations on food and wine.
Speaking of which, both were excellent. The fish was absolutely fresh and perfectly cooked. The mussels they served had the perfect consistency and not gritty at all. The wine was perfectly paired with both and we really appreciated that it came from a local winery. They also had local cakes that absolutely hit the spot.
When we visit again, we will definitely visit again!

3.8 stars is criminally low. We had a variety of dishes, _all_ were excellent. The table service was top-notch. Ignore the low ratings.

Locale che prepara piatti tipici della cucina ligure come spaghetti alle vongole, trofie al pesto, cozze alla marinara e fritto misto. Molte pietanze, come la focaccia al formaggio o alcune a base di pesce, presentano ingredienti surgelati.
I tavoli sono distribuiti all'interno del locale, all'esterno sotto i portici - purtroppo con i piccioni che circolano a lato, sopra e sotto i tavoli - e nella piazzetta. Vi è una toilette unisex accessibile a persone diversamente abili.

Wir waren in der Nebensaison in Cogoleto und haben im Oro Nero mehrmals gefrühstückt und auch einmal zu Mittag gegessen. Die Terrasse liegt direkt an der Straße, man fühlt sich aber gut geschützt - vor der Sonne und dem Verkehr - und die Atmosphäre ist fast ein bisschen urban.
Das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit, die morgens obligatorischen "Brioches" für unsere Mädels (und uns!) waren köstlich und wurden immer frisch nach Wunsch befüllt, der Kaffee war einwandfrei. Auch unser Mittagessen war sehr lecker und kam in großzügigen Portionen.
Wir können dieses Restaurant wirklich nur empfehlen.
