Osteria Cavolo Nero In Empoli

We were on Friday for lunch in this fantastic place which is the Osteria Cavolo Nero, a truly pleasant discovery. All dishes are freshly prepared, in fact the quality of the dishes is high. The only flaw... just to be picky... is the quantity of food on the plates... being from the south my eyes shine when they bring me a large plate of pasta.

We came across this place by chance during a quick stopover in Empoli. The restaurant not only has a small front garden in the pedestrian zone, but is also very nicely designed inside. The Vino della Casa tasted very good in both red and white. She really liked the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and zucchini that my wife had, and my cod on mashed potatoes was also excellent. Unfortunately we couldn't use the front garden due to the temperatures outside, but from spring to autumn it's certainly an additional, great asset.

Small but well organized restaurant, the food is of high quality and the menu is as varied as the wine list. As soon as you enter you can smell the scents of Tuscan cuisine, highly recommended!

This small but very well-kept place is located right in the center of Empoli. Availability of some places outside for the summer. Mostly Tuscan cuisine with some very creative and good reinterpretations. Top quality ingredients. Highly recommended

Small place, but very nice and welcoming. Excellent food, good dishes, good value for money. The waitress was very good, excellent service on a very busy day, they managed to respect the times we had available. Definitely recommended. If we are in Empoli again, we will return.

Small but very nice restaurant, excellent food

I returned after 1 year and unfortunately I wasn't as enthusiastic as the first time. Many dishes on the menu were not available. Overall the dishes were good. The waitress is always very kind

Das Essen war lauwarm und beim Fleisch die Bratkartoffeln, als ob sie schon länger gestanden hätten. Der Hauswein war nur Durchschnitt, so dass ich auf ein höherwertigen ausweichen musste. Die Gänge kamen zu schnell hintereinander. Der Service hat mich mit vielen kleinen Detailfehlern nicht überzeugt.
