La trattoria ha aperto per San Valentino. La location semplice pulita e rustica. Ma quello che ci ha veramente entusiasmato sono stati i proprietari Stefania e Loris, di una cordialità e di una gentilezza fuori dal comune. Non parliamo poi della raffinatezza dei piatti curati e ottimi. Qualità eccelsa. Se ritornerò sarà il mio punto di riferimento.

Stefania and Loris welcome you into their restaurant with grace and simplicity, as if you were guests in their home. And they offer you sincere, direct cuisine, made with the best local products.
We are, to all intents and purposes "In the countryside", a beautiful countryside, on the slopes of the Amiata and facing the Val d'Orcia. The silence and tranquility of the place best prepare for a highly satisfying gastronomic experience. Naturally here we do earthy cuisine, with a Tuscan feel (although the owners are Milanese who moved here years ago), but interpreted with personality and freedom of thought. The menu is told verbally. "Today we prepared...", Stefania announces at your table, and outlines the proposals of the day which, although anchored to a basic system that revolves around meat and pasta, varies according to the availability of the raw material and in any case presents a 'unexpected variety of tasty proposals.
On the occasion of our visit, Loris and Stefania "had prepared", among other things, "tuna" from Chianti, in a version with lean pork, cannellini beans and red onions, marinated Chianina carpaccio, tagliatelle made with chestnuts and seasoned with white cinta senese ragù and dry ricotta, pici with veal ragù, stewed pork cheek, boned guinea fowl wrapped in bacon on a bean sauce with uccelletto.
Even the desserts confirm the quality of a refined and never banal cuisine. We enjoyed a beautiful interpretation of the lemon semifreddo and an original chocolate cream on sponge cake.
Given the geographical location of the restaurant, the wine list offers above all a good selection of Montecucco, Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino labels. However, a decent house Montecucco is available.
The service is familiar. Stefania and Loris do everything themselves (a circumstance that can lengthen waiting times a little), alternating between the kitchen and the dining room, as if you were guests in their home. Compliments.
The quality-price ratio is enviable. Given the limited number of places, always book. Pay attention to the closing days.

What an unexpected gem in the Tuscan hills. Delicious food. Honest and local products, all deliciously prepared by a couple who run the restaurant! Our compliments and as far as I'm concerned, again tomorrow!
