No reservations allowed here. There was a long line of people waiting at the door minutes before the restaurant is open and they serve on a first come first serve basis.

An excellent address typical of Matera (there are only Italians), warm atmosphere, attentive waiter (and very funny - Paolo speaks French very well), delicious pasta, perfectly cooked meat, innovative desserts, faultless

ho finalmente trovato un posto non turistico con prodotti locali e tipici fatti giorno per giorno. c'è semplicemente l'imbarazzo della scelta. Il mio piatto preferito sono state le polpette,per la qualità del pomodoro e del condimento. complimenti

Trattoria che sforna piatti della cucina regionale e pugliese. Ottime le orecchiette alle cime di rapa. Abbondante l’antipasto a base di salumi. Locale sempre affollato, ma l’acustica è buona e permette di colloquiare. Prezzi onesti.

10/11/2023: Certainly the cuisine is local, especially freshly cooked, fresh food, superlative bran. Very good house wine. The downside is the stairs, 21 just to the room, the same number to get to the entrance. €50 1 starter 2 calzones 1 bran 1 first course. 2 water 3/4 wine

06/04/2024: Trattoria in the Sassi of Matera, very kind staff and excellent food with local specialties. We were visiting with the school 50 people. Everything well organized and excellent value for money.
03/03/2024: Absolutely positive review...place located in the most beautiful place in the city, excellent, plentiful and quality dishes, welcoming and friendly staff, honest bill. If you pass through Matera, stop at Trattoria i due sassi 🙂
