19/10/2023: Wohnen wollte ich in dem altehrwürdigen Kasten nicht, aber wenn Sie noch eine 1/2 Stunde bis zum Ablegen Ihrer Fähre haben, lohnt sich ein Besuch der im nebenan gelegenen altmodischen Bar des "Grand Hotel", um z.B. einen "caffe corretto" zu geniessen, der zudem mit nur EUR 4.- zu Buche schlägt.

02/09/2023: We stayed here for a week and loved it. Very helpful and friendly staff. Wonderful breakfasts, with eggs cooked anyway included. Lovely view directly overlooking the lake. Great position, easy walk to the piazza and restaurants in the evenings, and right by the boat stop to go to Bellagio and Varrena etc. Often had a pianist, harpist or singer in the bar in the evenings. Very comfortable rooms. Definitely recommended.

21/09/2023: A lovely atmosphere, great food and service. Relaxed but a lovely way to enjoy an evening meal in Menaggio. Thank you to all the staff 👍

15/09/2023: Appalling service and we received the same treatment from the same waitress as did the previous reviewer. Sulky and sullen staff, poor quality food, long waiting times and wine provided that was different to that described on the menu. We were basically ignored until I insisted that our order was taken and even then we didn’t receive cutlery or bread but were still charged a €6 cover charge. We could hear other people complaining about similar issues so we will definitely not be returning. One thing to clarify from previous reviews is that it’s just AMEX cards that they don’t accept. Other credit cards can be used.

14/09/2023: Absolutely terrible experience at this restaurant. Shown to table of which space between tables was a minimum, waited ages to be asked what we wanted , as per other reviews cutlery dropped on table in a packet , no serviette, asked for tap water to receive one glass , food not hot and small portion . No further conversation for dessert or drinks from staff so asked for bill , told to pay at counter , went to counter , staff said which table number so I had to walk back to table , no numbers on table so went back to pay ( I really should have walked off ) charged excessively for the two drinks 8 euro for a small beer 8 euro for wine and then a 6 euro service charge , and the opposite to everyone else as I wanted to pay cash and they insisted I pay by card !! I refused and said cash or nothing. Left and told my wife his much , she insisted we went back to question the amount as we had an idea how much the food was but 22 euros for 2 drinks !! No way , the same staff member was very rude because we asked her to itemise the bill in front of us , she had to search through a bin for the tab so I guess that’s where they could be cheating ! This is when they dropped the 6 euros service charge , wouldn’t mind but to do your own walking to pay is ridiculous, no wonder it has so many bad reviews we are obviously not on our own .

23/08/2023: Panino molto fresco,pane artigianale croccante,piatto kebab ahimè caro un piattino ovale dove metà c e insalata e pomodoro e quindi per 9 euro e troppo poco ,e un altra cosa ci vorrebbe una cappa in cucina perché esci dal locale e puzzi di bestia
