23/02/2024: A nice discovery while wandering around the streets of the historic center of Gaeta, in the old area which we found well kept and always characteristic. Excellent food, fantastic roasted octopus, very fresh seafood salad, excellent first courses: gnocchi, beans, mussels and octopus and spaghetti, mussels and clams. The desserts are special, homemade by the young chef.
A piece of advice, if I may: I would give the toilet facilities a makeover and take more care of the place, which is already nice in itself.

02/04/2024: Seafront restaurant, welcoming and helpful staff and quality food. Everything is fresh and the portions are generous. Excellent value for money. You can also easily find parking in the area on the blue lines. The tables outside are rather adapted and if the place is full, the service is quite slow, especially on requests.
01/04/2024: Good morning and happy Easter to everyone, today we went to eat at Adriano's by the sea and we can confirm that we made an excellent choice.
We took the fixed Easter menu consisting of a seafood appetizer, fusilli (very good) with seafood (white and not with sauce) or fisherman's rice, then grilled fish or mixed fried fish and as side dishes chips or salad then we continued with lemon sorbet and finally coffee. I can guarantee that it always has quality products and good service.
We met Adriano at the seaside before Covid during a trip to the Gaeta lights and we already had a good time there despite an unexpected event happening to my father-in-law (a waiter passing by had dropped a bit of sauce on his jacket and Adriano himself the owner told us to take it to the dry cleaners and send him the invoice and in no time he made the bank transfer)
Today, remembering this, we had a laugh with the same guy who I always compliment for the quality and speed of service.
For those looking for a restaurant in Gaeta this is the right choice.

La Cantina di Ciccillo

24/03/2024: Behind the seafront, among the alleys, the cloisters and the buildings annexed to the Cathedral, this small wine shop/restaurant offers small emotions, in a refined and elegant environment created in a cellar that incorporates a section of the Gaeta city walls, an oil mill and a splendid Roman underground cistern.
These wonders, integrated with care and respect in the internal room, well illustrated by the young owner, would be enough to offer the maximum rating to Cantina di Ciccillo, but there is also the cuisine, organized around a few appetizing proposals, balanced in flavors and made with love and passion.
Everything was wonderful, I'll be back.
23/03/2024: An incredible experience! We chose "la cantina di ciccillo" to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday in an original way in Gaeta! Not only did they show us availability and courtesy from the first moment, but they organized everything down to the smallest detail, creating a one-of-a-kind party. Our guests were impressed, in love with the local cuisine, the suggestive venue and how the entire lunch was managed, from the appetizers to the cake, prepared outside in the characteristic alley.
A special thanks to Lucia and her team for giving us this magnificent party!!!

06/04/2024: Terrible! Extremely slow service! We sat down at 1.20pm, we waited, at 1.40pm no one had yet arrived to order! Completely forgotten! We paid for a bottle of water and left. NEVER AGAIN.

06/04/2024: The restaurant is nice and welcoming.
The dining room staff was not very knowledgeable about the ingredients present in the dishes and there was a mistake on one course, but we can still say that they are kind and helpful.
We were disappointed with the food, it was definitely not up to the price, we especially don't recommend getting the baked potatoes, we left them all.
Finally, we were charged 5 euros cover charge for 2 1 and a half year old children who ate only a little pasta and only used a small fork. I didn't expect to have pasta offered like other restaurants do, but I don't think it was correct to charge the cover charge.
26/03/2024: The pizza was good in taste, but incredibly wet. As in the two wettest pizzas we have ever seen. Very hard to eat, and impossible to handhold.
