We returned after previous experiences with friends. It is always a pleasure to be hosted by Giovanna and Carlo and enjoy their food and their friendliness. It feels like eating at a friends house. Aside from the quality of the cuisine, it is truly incredible how you can interact pleasantly with the guests at the other tables and get involved in a pleasant convivial atmosphere. The desserts invented by Giovanna are special.

Everything was excellent... wonderful experience in this very welcoming place and excellent food, all baked, I recommend it for anyone who wants to taste the real cuisine of the past. Furthermore, the owner Giovanna has patented her amaro which I found truly original and authentic...

They recommended we go to eat there and therefore we went for an early dinner. We entered and at first we didn't like that they told us that it wasn't a restaurant, which seemed strange to us... but when we decided to stay anyway, we took a seat at a small table in a picturesque corner. They called us to come and choose and they had several options of pasta and other delicious things to try. We had to choose 3 and we chose a variety so we could try everything. They heated the homemade food (which the owner herself prepares once a day) It was all delicious! Including the homemade wine made by the man who so kindly served us at the table! We recommend 100% and since we are going to return to Matera because we fell in love, we will surely eat delicious, homemade food again! It should be noted that the place is a cave very well decorated in the old, simple and picturesque style. Thank you very much for everything and also for the excellent kindness and the corn! Nel cuore dei sassi, questo locale si caratterizza per una cucina tipicamente lucana che non eccelle nel gusto, sebbene presenti dei piatti molto particolari. Buoni i dolci e molto disponibile il personale. Peccato che i peperoni cruschi vengano fatti solo al forno e non fritti, come richiede la tradizione,

Il posto è difficile da definire. Le cose sono anche buone, soprattutto perche stracondite, ma l'idea di mettere diverse pietanze in un piatto non mi convince, con i vari sughi che si mescolano. Molto buona la torta alla zucca e zenzero che ho mangiato.
