We went yesterday for lunch for Easter, we had a great time. Excellent food, very pleasant welcome and a nice atmosphere. One more star for Quelo, who watches over the room!

Osteria Malatesta was the best surprise in Matera, a place with a warm and light atmosphere, excellence in 360-degree service.
Meals that perfectly blend tradition and a touch of creativity, the staff was polite and engaging and made us feel truly at home, I also really appreciated the background music. The delicate salted caramel of the dessert is truly excellent.
The choice not to charge for water won above all.
I recommend anyone passing through Matera to visit this little gem, I hope to return also for the concerts held in the venue.

Posto semplice, ma genuino, dove si mangia e si beve bene, senza fronzoli e con sostanza.
Cibi con materie prime di alta qualità, ottimamente cucinati. Ambiente famigliare, cordiale e simpatico. Magnifica colonna sonora, con canzoni italiane top del passato.
Il condimento migliore è la simpatia e la spontaneità del proprietario.
Prezzi sotto la logica! Bisogna star male per spendere tanto!

The price was €21
Reviewing the menu with the updated prices on his page, I decided to call the owner and clarify that I had not become impoverished and he had not enriched himself with €1.50!

Overall a good experience.
We were walking in the Sassi of Matera with some friends and seeing a few places on Maps we decided to stop here.
We appreciated the starter courses, I would only see something in the first courses but overall they are fine.
Service ok, maybe it could be a bit friendlier. Typical location of a tavern, it's ok.
Quality/price normal given the location.
