31/03/2024: Easter Saturday evening 2024, unforgettable dinner, beyond expectations (already high, given the name...)... Tradition proposed in an innovative way, right and abundant portions... Tortellini confirm their rightful fame, high-level desserts. .. but the latter are truly exceptional. Right quality/price ratio.... Definitely recommended, and worth trying

17/02/2024: Siamo rimasti davvero soddisfatti della nostra cena. Il servizio è ottimo, attento ai minimi dettagli, la cucina davvero di alta qualità sia per la ricercatezza dei prodotti che per l'originalità dei piatti. I prezzi sono alti ma in linea per la tipologia di ristorante. L'atmosfera è intima e perfetta per una cena romantica. Lo consiglierei, e sicuramente ci torneremo!
04/02/2024: High level gastronomie; tagliatelle al ragù molto buone con la carne tagliata al coltello invece che trittata lumache gustose, coniglio stufo con pâté di fegato , un buon bianco del Valle d’ Aosta , ottimo servizio conto normale per la qualità.

06/04/2024: The food is really good and generous portions, what we couldn't eat they gave us in a tray; we enjoyed!! Home cooking and friendly, helpful staff...the wait was a little long for the first course but then everything went smoothly; on the other hand it was Easter Monday and the place was full, so it fits!
Location a little dated, but clean.
We will certainly go back to taste what we just couldn't eat because the menu was varied.
Note: the bacon is excellent!!
03/04/2024: Going to eat at La Rana is always something done well, it's that place where you always feel like you're at home and where you find the dishes you always want to have on the table at home! It is essential to find someone who is not on a diet to go with, as it is a perfect place to hang out.

06/04/2024: Have sent email and reserved a place for 6th April, however the staff didn’t recognized the reservation. In fact they asked for a phone number, which we replied in a booking a month ago.
Plus the lady blamed us that we don’t have a reservation and not able to give us a seat. how do you expect your customer to know your process and chase you for a registration number. And the customer have followed up immediately with a number.
The staff was so rude and proud, with their nose up high… looking down on people.
Please avoid this restaurant, they are too proud and can’t be humble after they have screwed up.
Sharing emails
06/04/2024: Emailed one month ahead for a reservation. Got an email back asking for a number which we promptly provided. came all the way down for dinner only to be greeted with rude service that our reservation is not confirmed??? because we did not get an email confirmation?
1) the person tending to the email address for the reservation obviously did not do their job… and rudely asked why we did not follow up when they did not send any further emails???
2) if you indeed forgot to respond or record the reservation, pls at least apologize to your customer. it’s basic and the least you can do.
does serving good food give you the right to poor service and be so rude to your customers?

06/04/2024: Terrible experience. Very small and dark place. We waited 20 minutes to be seated even though the place was empty. We sat down and ordered the tagliatelle with ragù and the pork chops. After 10 minutes they bring us the dish. Poor quality and tasteless dish. Finally we went to pay and they even wanted to scam us... they made us pay €20 for a bottle of wine instead of €12. I don't recommend it

28/03/2024: We were passing through Modena and stopped to eat at Vecchia Pirri.
Being close to the center but not inside the center was perfect for us.
Very fast and friendly service.
Characteristic place with lots of wood and many small "goodies" hanging on the walls.
We had three first courses and some water for around 60 euros in total.
Two tagliatelle with ragù, two passatelli. All good.
One flaw in my opinion was the bread, a little too dry (perhaps cut too long).

06/03/2024: locale pieno di atmosfera molto gradevole, locale storico nel centro di Modena- la proprietaria gig.ra Ada molto cordiale e disponibile - antipasti e tortelloni molto buoni , faraona con carciofi stupendi.
02/03/2024: I spent an evening in this place with some colleagues, it was the first time I went there and I must say that it is certainly not the classic normal place but a place where, according to the owner (Ada), you should feel at home in fact the food is homemade, plentiful, fantastic and not at all artificial, the wine strictly from the area is very good but the real attraction of the place is Mrs. Ada who has a very nice way of entertaining guests. Last but not least it must be said that it is also in a historic location in Modena and as it is very small it is necessary to book. Thank you so much Ada.

11/03/2024: Delicious food, friendly service, affordable prices and a lovely atmosphere. Yes, the portions are small, but that’s good because then you can try more things! The lamb skewers are a must-try. One of the nicest dinner experiences we’ve had in Italy. We would definitely come back again :)

05/04/2024: Local located in the historic center of Modena with almost zero parking possibilities. The place is small in size so the seating spaces are quite narrow. As for the cuisine, having long believed that great cuisine can be recognized by the simplest dishes, I greatly appreciated the tagliatelle with peas and bacon; Also worth noting are the stewed rabbit and the baked potatoes, which may seem banal, but they don't "shine" everywhere.

17/03/2024: La Piola is not just a place where you eat but a real Osteria where every dish and every wall has a story that wants to be told. Claudio, the innkeeper, is a gentleman from another era with whom it was very pleasant to chat over a glass of Lambrusco. Simple, traditional cuisine, without frills and genuinely good.

27/12/2023: Pessima impressione: sul tavolo pane e grissini erano stantii; l' antipasto " gamberetti ed insalata" era pieno di acqua ( insalata non scolata sufficientemente) la pasta dei tortelli di zucca, troppo grandi da doverli mangiare dopo averli tagliati in due col coltello,con sfoglia troppo grosso ( cruda nell' incrocio) Il tiramisù era industriale e la mia amica lo ha reso senza mangiarlo.I fiori del bagno erano finti! Non c' è indicazione per l' uscita dal ristorante e bisogna chiedere alla reception,dove ti informano di uscire dall' uscita di emergenza.1 antipasto" all' acqua ' ,1 piatto, scarso,di tortelli alla zucca,un pezzetto, grande come un cioccolatino,di torta Barozzi,1/2 bottiglia d'acqua,1/4 di vino = 42 €....per me è No
