Here you can eat CECÌNA or SCHIACCIATINA WITH CECÌNA which is a typical specialty of Pisa and Pontedera. For me this place is magical because it makes me feel at home and I recommend it as a mandatory stop for everyone who is in this area of ​​Tuscany.

25/03/2024: Place with an intimate atmosphere. Nice furnishings, soft lighting, pleasant music. It is possible to choose a complete tasting from three (land, sea and mixed "as per tradition"), each including six courses, or select individual à la carte dishes from the aforementioned tastings. If you opt for one of the three complete menus, the journey must be shared by all the guests (i.e. at the same table it will not be possible to choose a tasting and at the same time á la carte courses, nor two different tastings). This apparent rigidity is promptly overcome once the tasting is served - we selected "as a tradition", in our case. Starting from the welcome prosecco and the amuse bouche, the gastronomic experience is special. Refined and divinely successful combinations, perfect cooking, pasta with an amazing consistency, condiments with multiple flavors and without one ingredient dominating the other, delicious presentation of the dishes. Personally we found the first four courses excellent, while the second course and the dessert were a step below (although pleasant, but less harmonious than the previous dishes). In general, the raw materials appear to be of a high standard, and are certainly crafted and arranged with skill. To the admiration for the chef's skills, we must add appreciation for the entire dining room staff, polite and present, never intrusive and very competent. It should be considered that, contemplating ordering a bottle of wine (not among the most expensive) for two, the price is around €90 each. It has almost never happened to me to spend such sums for a single meal, but the Polveriera is a culinary experience that truly deserves such an outlay. And I think I'll make it again in the near future, perhaps once the tasting menus have been remodeled.

18/03/2024: I had a fantastic experience, a truly unique place with particular and welcoming decor! The dining room staff he is very helpful and competent, the waiters manage to immerse the customer at 360° thanks to the accurate description of the dishes. Each dish is a unique experience, a mix of flavors and textures, you can see that there is attention and precision in everything served! Excellent value for money, I recommend the tasting menu!!

Comunque lo consiglio vivamente e ci tornerei perché la roba è buona e il personale gentilissimo. Noi abbiamo mangiato pizza bianca mozzarella pecorino e pere, una pagnottella allo stracotto, un antipasto del Cilento e toscano, pastiera per dolce. Tutto veramente buono.

21/02/2024: Il locale è molto bellino, c'è sia la sala all'aperto che la sala al chiuso. Il proprietario è molto gentile, ci si scambia tranquillamente qualche chiacchiera. Il cuoco è super bravo, poco da dire! Esperienza da rifare assolutamente, prezzo onesto !

11/02/2024: Trovato su Internet. Ambiente carino, con dehors sulla piazza. Servizio normale, 2 persone abbiamo preso un tagliere di salumi e formaggi che abbiamo diviso, altrattanto per il primo 2 tagliate. Il tagliere buono e sufficientemente fornito, cappellacci (6 in tutto) molto salati. La carne e'stata cotta e messa al caldo fino al trasporto in tavola, per cui e' risultata tiepida rispetto al contorno (patate). Una bottiglia di bianco e un calice di rosso. Il tutto per quasi 120 euro. Tutto sommato una discreta cena, ma con un prezzo assolutamente sproporzionato.
