05/08/2023: My wife and I went to Gilden Mill yesterday for lunch (since we were looking for a restaurant in the area as we were here for our anniversary). You can hardly notice the restaurant from the outside (but it is very close to the village of Calitri) because it seems small. Outside on the wall at the entrance there is a beautiful mural which is striking for its particularity: it represents the cook in the kitchen. Well-kept interior, an inn that also wants to be chic. We are not talking about a starred restaurant, but not even a tavern, on the contrary!. It is a family-run restaurant/pizzeria (wife cook and husband pizza chef and lounge/bar) which adapts perfectly to the context of the village of Calitri. It presents (like other restaurants in the area) typical local dishes. We tried the "cannazze" and the "cavatelli" with a tasty sauce (with and without cheese) and served in classic bowls of traditional Calitri ceramic and with a mini foam (for plating) and the tiramisu both classic and with lemon (portions normal but tasty, served in a glass jar). Normal prices (unlike what has been said in other comments). Owners, very kind and easy-going gentlemen who spoke with us about this and that, even about private life. 30/12/2023: Durante un viaggio dalla Basilicata a Caserta, io e il mio fidanzato ci siamo fermati qui e ci siamo letteralmente consolati. È stato tutto buonissimo e genuino: abbiamo preso una scamorza arrostita con prosciutto e tartufo, bruschette con olio e origano di montagna, tagliolini con lardo e tartufo e dei dolcini con passito di Pantelleria. Tutto ottimo compreso vino e passito. Proprietario gentilissimo e molto professionale. Ci dispiace solo non aver provato il secondo causa mancanza di tempo, ma ritorneremo presto!
