02/03/2024: Ringrazio il cielo di avermi fatto cadere l’occhio su una scritta che prometteva: “qui solo cucina toscana” e siccome eravamo in visita a Siena da Milano era proprio quello che cercavamo. Il posto è veramente spoglio e poco pretenzioso e direi anche, cosa di cui ora mi stupisco, incredibilmente poco frequentato. Invece è stat ma la migliore osteria in cui abbia mai mangiato. Certo la cucina toscana di per sé è molto buona, ma in questo ristorante dall’atmosfera veramente casalinga, la eccezionale bontà di alcuni cibi che abbiamo mangiato pur nella loro semplicità è cosa rara. I pici, la trippa, crostini e incredibili la verza col pomodoro e il crem caramel fatto da loro!!
Cigliegina sulla torta con tanto di dolce abbiamo speso 75 euro in due …pur essendo a due passi da piazza del campo. Che dire super consigliato!!

12/02/2024: Near the church of San Domenico stands the Al Masgalano restaurant: we had lunch based on typical Tuscan cuisine, such as ribollita and truffle gnocchi and excellent Chianti by the glass; Quick service, courteous staff, clean and welcoming environment, the bathroom a little less so. A good refreshment point for tourists.

28/03/2024: Shame on the staff, we came to eat here with a large group of 150 teenagers. When we entered it was chaos and the staff was a bit irritated, but I completely understand that. I work in the catering industry myself and if a group of 18-year-olds walked in there in a super chaotic manner, I would also be annoyed. Later they were very friendly. When we were all seated, it was very cozy inside, really nice interior. 10/10 for atmosphere and conviviality. As a starter we got a piece of delicious lasagna and as a secondo a piece of meat with a mini amount of potatoes (3/person). The secondo could have been a bit more, I didn't really feel like I had eaten much, but the few potatoes were super tasty. The dessert was also really tasty.

Il locale non è cambiato molto da allora e anche i baristi sono sempre gli stessi. Caffè e pasta buoni. Servizio ok.

16/03/2024: Without too many words, I was unable to finish the pizza as it was completely tasteless.
As a competent person (having a degree in human nutrition sciences) I can understand when a food is fresh.
Pay attention to the choice of ingredients because many dishes are not even balanced but are there just to read them.
The worst thing ? The rudeness of the guy who was just waiting for us to pay.
I loved the availability of the girl who was immediately welcoming and when asked to bring something to tease because I wasn't feeling well she immediately proceeded to bring something.

19/03/2024: Location close to the centre. Excellent first and second courses. Very welcoming and courteous staff. Good pastry shop. Low prices. You can't find better than this in Siena. To be recommended
01/03/2024: Più che pulcino è meglio chiamarlo pescecane. Insalata mista, con tre foglie tre prese dalla busta e un, 1 , pomodoro 6.5 euro. una sfoglia di petto di pollo ( 80 grammi) con una goccia di olio di tartufo 8.5 euro. Un caffè. Totale 22 euro con pane e coperto . Alla larga.

05/04/2024: Not bad for being in the center of Siena, historic and well-kept place, wide selection of wines even by the glass, it must be in some guide for Americans because we were literally surrounded by it. Perhaps not very original reinterpretations of classics (eggs with asparagus cream), but good quality/price ratio and friendly, quick service.
