15/03/2024: I costi sono veramente soddisfacenti, cibo fresco, ma soprattutto locale. Ma bisogna prenotare almeno 4 o 5 giorni prima per trovare posto.

08/03/2024: Aliano is not a transit town! You go to Aliano on purpose! Why? Because Carlo Levi, with his confinement, his "Christ stopped at Eboli" and his tomb up in the cemetery overlooking the house of confinement, changed as well as upset the lives of many Lucanians and Italians! This is why those who go to Aliano go there to breathe that air, observe those alleys, those houses, those steep gullies that served Carlo Levi so well to make history and go down in history himself! But after a nice walk full of history and emotions, whether you like it or not, it's time for lunch! And here history is made by the restaurant of the timeless Sisina! Enter, two large rooms! You immediately feel a sense of order and cleanliness! Her daughter Stella and Geny step forward! Two truly graceful, good-looking young ladies who welcome you with real kindness, serve you and advise you! As the infinite courses flow by, you savor the exquisiteness of the dishes! Prepared with love as well as great skill! Of those who believe in their work and do it with passion and commitment! Who truly puts their soul into it! Flavors that are now rare, unobtainable! But what Sisina manages to harness in those delicious and genuine dishes! And you who sit on this side, admire, appreciate and above all eat, eat, and leave nothing, you can't, not even when they offer you an encore! Finally one of their bitters! Prepare at home like everything else! The bill? Modest compared to the authenticity and abundance of the food! To the two wonderful hostesses! To the splendid venue! To historic Sisina! The coffee? Without taking anything away, I give up! I get coffee in Aliano at the bar opposite "il Brillo Parlante" like in Naples, try it! And then if you want, just further up there is the Villone bakery and take home some genuine baked goods! So in the evening, after having retraced the streets of Carlo Levi, you can return home satisfied! And... if you feel sad you can always come back! We will do it!

31/03/2024: Extremely disappointed. We had a reservation but waited to get a seat. It's okay, it can happen. Finally seated we waited more than an hour and a half for our pizzas. We were already annoyed but the disappointment grew when we were finally served pizzas with bad tasting dough (they seemed to have risen badly). No waiter came over to ask if everything was going well. The waiting time and the quality of the food made this dinner unpleasant.

01/04/2024: Just sufficient. We had dinner in this typical place among the rocks of Matera. Satisfying mixed starters. First courses to forget. My son had the truffle tagliolini. Drowned in truffle butter...inedible due to the amount of salt. The amazed waiter asked us for explanations as to why we hadn't eaten the tagliolini. Having explained what happened, the funny guy even took us for a ride, telling us that he would inform the chef. When it came time to pay we found ourselves charged the entire bill. What to say ??? You nailed us...so congratulations!!!! In the meantime, however, I try to save other tourists.

31/12/2023: Abbiamo partecipato in 5 al Cenone, ma con l’idea, comunicata al gestore, di voler finire in tempo per il concerto di Bennato in piazza. Non ci interessava l’attesa della mezzanotte e sarebbe andato bene anche un menu alla carta.Solo il menù fisso era disponibile e , vista anche la mancanza di disponibilità nei locali segnalatici abbiamo prenotato comunque. Ci viene imposta una condizione: solo il bonifico con la metà dell’importo del conto finale avrebbe ufficializzato la prenotazione stessa. Ora, non ci lamenteremo del cibo, a parte gli antipasti banali e già preparati con largo anticipo e giunti freddi al tavolo. Buone le polpette , non male gli agnolotti e il vitello, ma siamo costretti a lasciare il locale in anticipo perché il servizio è stato veramente inesistente: abbiamo cominciato con 5/5 bicchieri di degustazione in cui si sentiva l’uovo, siamo passati al penoso stappare della bottiglia di vino da parte del “sommelier”,, passando attraverso l’interminabile attesa con i piatti sporchi davanti. È il tentativo disperati di attirare l’attenzione degli assistenti in sala , ciechi e sordi a qualsiasi cenno… Una cena che sarebbe potuta anche essere gradevole se solo con un po’ di autovalutazione si fosse optato per un minor numero di ospiti più facilmente gestibile. Auguriamo loro comunque un buon anno

11/02/2024: I was invited to a birthday party on a quiet evening... with my friends we went out for a cigarette. Upon returning the bouncers with an arrogant tone won't let my friends in anymore, you pay and you also have to meet outside the door.... I believe that embarrassing things happen then... we need a little more humility in life...

23/01/2024: Siamo stati in questo ristorante il 21 gennaio durate un piccolo soggiorno a Matera. Locale molto intimo pochi posti a sedere ma cucina a dir poco fantastica. Abbiamo gustato i loro antipasto uno più buono dell altro e poi carne di Podologa alla brace e costine di agnello in padella. Tutto veramente buono e di qualità. Ci ritorneremo presto

13/11/2023: The least good place we ate in Matera. Poor quality ingredients and cooked too simply. An example? Gummy bran pepper. The waitress was decidedly unwelcoming and had a brusque manner. Exaggerated prices compared to the type of cuisine and the rest of the offer of the Matesni restaurants. Background music more appropriate to a bad bar in Bogota.

Studio apartment also equipped with all kitchen accessories, fridge, oven, etc. Very kind and welcoming owner and staff. Good breakfast with different types of homemade desserts and many other sweet and savory options. Thank you. I would only remove the hydromassage tub very slippery, I would just use a nice shower. x . the rest is fine. thanks again.

13/01/2024: Structure: very nice hotel, with large and well-furnished rooms, perhaps a little dated, well heated, equipped with everything you need: fridge, stove, toiletries, towels, extra pillow, etc. The rooms are carved into the stone. I personally haven't encountered the damp smell complained about in many reviews: I'd say it's the smell of tuff, but it's also normal, being in a Sasso. However it's not annoying, after a while you can't even hear it anymore. Location: the hotel is very central, it is a little elevated, but by going down in two minutes you reach the main road, so an excellent location. Breakfast: it is equipped with homemade desserts and a savory part, which is very rich, and you can also request anything at the bar. Truly exceptional. Service: the owner is nice, even if he can seem a bit grumpy, and the guy at the reception/bar is also very helpful. We had a problem and they solved it for us late at night, so availability is 24 hours a day. Overall, I recommend this property.

12/03/2024: Posto molto rustico e carino, in una grotta. Lo chef è sicuramene al di sopra della media. Tradizione mantenuta, ma il tutto con dei tocchi di classe inaspettati.

04/02/2024: Ristorante collocato in una bellissima grotta nei sassi di Matera, piuttosto rustico ma accogliente, il personale di servizio è stato molto cortese e sollecito. Le pietanze sono quelle della tradizione, buoni il vino della casa e il tris di primi, ottima la tagliata. Prezzo giusto.
