01/04/2024: Had dinner...mediocre food not up to expectations, lamb not in a piñata as advertised (dish ordered in another restaurant and served in a terracotta piñata, baked in the oven served sealed with a crunchy pizza dough) this served in a casserole dish earthenware, boiled dish with vegetables, three skinny pieces of lamb submerged in a tasteless watery broth together with pieces of carrots, potatoes, a disappointing tasteless dish. Roasted caciocavallo... more of an appetizer than a second course, a scant slice of barely warm caciocavallo. Tasteless unseasoned side dish... when you ask for a little oil you seem to be asking for gold, a disappointing sweet trio of chocolates. I wouldn't go back nor would I recommend it. The bill, although the owner was sorry for the poor service, was considered a perfect dinner

27/03/2024: For me this is the first time I have visited this restaurant... the location is beautiful, with a magnificent view of the Sassi of Matera. A refined and thoughtful internal environment. Fast, precise and attentive service. Beautiful and tasty dishes. All good and yet I gave 4 stars, I'm very sorry about this, but perhaps it's the fault of the booking made with The fork with a 50% discount on dishes, you can't pay for a 1lt bottle of Coca-cola (on the receipt there are two 0.5 ) the sum of €12... I repeat, I'm sorry because the place is truly worth it, but honestly this detail struck me very negatively. I hope to change my mind next time....

16/03/2024: Abbiamo pranzato in questo locale trovato su The Fork,abbiamo usufruito dello sconto del 50%.Prima di tutto ci tengo a fare un plauso alle cameriere che sono davvero gentili e solari,abbiamo mangiato davvero bene(pubblico le foto dei piatti in basso),unica pecca a mio avviso il prezzo delle bevande,mi spiego abbiamo pagato una bottiglia da litro di Coca Cola 12 euro esattamente quanto una bottiglia di vino da 75ml,per il resto il locale è piccolo ma carino,e soprattutto centralissimo.Lo consiglio.

02/04/2024: We were there on March 31st, Easter day. We were on an organized trip and had free lunch, so, not knowing the area, we chose at random, inspired by the entrance to the restaurant and what we glimpsed inside. We were pleasantly struck by the particularity of the restaurant itself, by the attention to the table and the rooms, by the kindness of the restaurant manager who showed us the dishes we chose, including a selection of truly exquisite local cheeses and cold cuts. The first course was exceptional, but the artisanal ice cream they served at the end of the meal was something truly indescribable. Price appropriate for the quality of the food.

06/04/2024: Great atmosphere, great wine list, but very poor knowledge how to treat fine wine…… tartare was served without any toasted bread, no salt, pepper and olive oil on the table……. Wine refrigerator was too noisy behind our back. Service was too fast between courses ( less than 15 minutes), also while cutting our food the table was moving. Overall experience was not what we expected for this type of restaurant. Hopefully this review will improve your future service and food.

13/01/2024: Being ridiculed by the service and paying 50 euros more for products that the owner claimed had been given as gifts is absolutely not professional... The food is good...but they are smart and try to "get you" Whatever. Really sad.... Be careful

Homemade bread, sulphite-free wine, excellent meats, delicious first courses and the bruschetta with caramelised onion, goat's ricotta, broccoli and Cantabrian anchovies is an absolute must..... a delight!!!!! My husband and I had only booked for Easter but after having lunch we also booked for Easter Monday 😂😂😂. If you are in Matera you cannot miss a meal at Sapori Gluten Free. A special applause goes above all to the owner, a gentleman who takes care of the room impeccably. Thank you, see you soon.

14/01/2024: Excellent piadina, freshly made, good flavor and good consistency. Extensive menu which also includes watercress and many filling possibilities. The service is relatively fast. The gentleman who takes the orders is a bit confusing and gets lost in the chatter, but luckily the guys in the kitchen are attentive and prepare the right thing for you. 😁 The place seems very small, but you can also eat inside and it has a bathroom. Nearby there is a corner with an appreciable view of the Sassi.

27/03/2024: Positioned on one of the most panoramic views of Matera, Il Terrazzino is an excellent characteristic restaurant. We had lunch based on typical dishes, an appetizer based on vegetables, local cured meats and cheeses. Advised.

06/04/2024: Absolutely perfect, from the friendly, attentive, and knowledgable waiter to the delicious food and amazing view! Classy, Lovely place to watch day turn to night over the sassi. I had the octopus with mint, a generous glass of red wine, and a vegetable dish with sausage, while husband had pasta and pork. Every bite was exceptional - even the bread was good. Trust the waiter’s recommendations! Priced very reasonably - paid 42 euros total, including service charge. Excellent deal for great quality food. Highly recommended!

19/03/2024: We expected more. It may be our fault. The viewpoint advertised was for two people. A place called Finestra sui Sassi, should have a good vantage point. We will treat ourselves to some typical Sant Josep fritters.

28/02/2024: Very nice and welcoming place but excessively high prices!!! Paying €15 for three herbal teas, therefore three cups of hot water, of a brand available in supermarkets, seems like theft to me. Unfortunately they will never see me again.

09/01/2024: I don't recommend it, it's a cramped place... I ordered a complete menu and my wife, not being able to eat different foods, asked for a salad and in response the waiter told us in a very arrogant tone that you couldn't order just a side dish you had to add either an appetizer or a first course or a second course. I explained my wife's health reasons and of my choice but he didn't care so much so I had to add a first course. My wife felt bad following this choice. We didn't leave immediately, only because we had already enjoyed the drinks and bread. I advise you against it, in fact we strongly advise against it. We understand business but not at the expense of people's health.
