18/02/2024: My partner and I had dinner at Acqua Pazza, as we wanted to have a fine dining experience in Ponza, to celebrate the ending of our vacation in summer 2023. We went for the tasting menu whose dishes you can find in the pictures I am attaching to the review. We found the food well-cooked, simple, and yet tasty: personally, the dishes which really stood-out were the little ravioli with liquid tomato sauce and the chocolate dessert with several consistencies. The wine pairing was perfect as we savoured a white wine locally produced. There were - however - two negative sides to notice. Understanding we are taking about fine dining and high-end restaurants, we personally prefer a more informal atmosphere: we noticed that the restaurant manager was overly present and supervising all the operations, which made the experience a little bit too tight - maybe this can open a room for discussion and supervise the staff from a more distant situation. Secondly, a young couple started to smoke electronic cigarette in the table close to ours (thankfully, they left soon), with no action taken. Overall, I would recommend trying this restaurant as the location on the cliff is A+MAZING, the food and the wine pairing are worth it, and we had a great and romantic night.

02/11/2023: It is the only starred restaurant in Ponza and there must be a reason. Intimate and welcoming place with a wonderful sea view. I found the tasting menu excellent as well as the attention and service (even if we had to ask to slow down for a moment to avoid eating hastily). The entire menu is top-notch but the cuttlefish appetizer with pea and artichoke cream is truly superb. The swordfish marinated in soy was also cooked impeccably and very tasty. Sweet final level. The tasting menu costs 90 euros and is worth every penny.

15/12/2023: Excellent food, comfortable environment, ideal point of reference where to go for aperitifs and aperitifs in the company of friends.

11/11/2023: Frequentavo questo locale periodicamente ed era una certezza. Visitato ad ottobre dopo il cambio gestione, si notano subito alcune differenze. Si è persa la particolarità dei piatti che caratterizzava la loro cucina. Ora i piatti non lasciano il segno tanto che a distanza di una settimana non ci ricordavamo cosa avevamo mangiato tranne le polpette. Inoltre abbiamo notato una scarsa cura nei dettagli e nell’attenzione del cliente. Ad esempio in sala c’era un tavolo con persone che parlavano solo inglese e la cameriera pur essendo molto gentile, non era in grado di comprendere o dire una sola parola nella loro lingua. La vicinanza con Roma qui potrebbe farsi sentire e bisogna adeguarsi ai tempi. Un corso di inglese è un investimento per questo tipo di attività. Nel frattempo come soluzione tampone, una traduzione del menù in inglese potrebbe aiutare. Un’altro aspetto che non ci è piaciuto è stata la carta dei vini: pochissime etichette in aggiunta anonime. Dopo cena abbiamo scoperto dal titolare che c’erano altri vini del Trentino sullo scaffale (non presenti in carta)che però non ci sono stati proposti al momento dell’ordine. Oltretutto nel Lazio si stanno affermando diverse cantine con degli ottimi vini anche biologici: perché non proporre cantine del territorio? Spero di tornare in futuro e vedere questo ristoratore tornato come un tempo.

23/09/2023: Ristorante carino serietà e gentilezza del personale Abbiamo mangiato veramente bene e siamo stati sulla terrazza all'entrata con tutto il bel panorama difronte. Consigliato (per chi vuol spendere qualcosa in più)😉🤣

13/09/2023: Il ristorante è grazioso e pulito. La qualità del cibo eccellente a cominciare dalle polpettine di melanzana offerte come entree insieme a vari tipi di pane tutti buonissimi! Antipasti deliziosi dalla parmigianina di melanzana alla scarola ripassata etc Poi abbiamo assaggiato un primo di risotto con gamberi e granella di pistacchio...super!!! La signora che ci ha servito (che poi insieme al marito sono i proprietari) veramente squisita e simpatica e attenta alle esigenze del cliente. Rapporto qualità prezzo onesto per la qualità del cibo! Bravissimi! Se torniamo a Ponza sicuramente sarà una tappa obbligata!

24/03/2024: Behind the seafront, among the alleys, the cloisters and the buildings annexed to the Cathedral, this small wine shop/restaurant offers small emotions, in a refined and elegant environment created in a cellar that incorporates a section of the Gaeta city walls, an oil mill and a splendid Roman underground cistern. These wonders, integrated with care and respect in the internal room, well illustrated by the young owner, would be enough to offer the maximum rating to Cantina di Ciccillo, but there is also the cuisine, organized around a few appetizing proposals, balanced in flavors and made with love and passion. Everything was wonderful, I'll be back.

23/03/2024: An incredible experience! We chose "la cantina di ciccillo" to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday in an original way in Gaeta! Not only did they show us availability and courtesy from the first moment, but they organized everything down to the smallest detail, creating a one-of-a-kind party. Our guests were impressed, in love with the local cuisine, the suggestive venue and how the entire lunch was managed, from the appetizers to the cake, prepared outside in the characteristic alley. A special thanks to Lucia and her team for giving us this magnificent party!!! A warm hug from the Avezzano group!

02/01/2024: La pasta è davvero buona e si spende il giusto. Il resto più standar, ma vi consiglio di prendere uno dei primi o il tris di primi. Arredamento da rivedere e gestore simpatico.
