29/03/2024: Great food at good prices. I ate the pici with wild boar ragout. Excellent wines. I recommend Montalcino. Super friendly staff.

31/01/2024: Di ritorno a casa dopo un fine settimana alle terme di Bagno Vignoni, mia moglie ed io ci siamo fermati qui a pranzo sfruttando il consiglio di amici. Trovarlo non è stato semplice, infatti con tutto il navigatore abbiamo sbagliato strada, ma una volta arrivati mi è subito passato il malumore per il disagio. Location bellissima immersa nel verde, sarebbe ideale anche per qualche cerimonia. Come antipasto ho preso una tartare di chianina accompagnata da peperoni e cavolfiori; mentre mia moglie ha scelto uno sformato di carciofi con crema di formaggio. Io non mangio formaggi quindi non ho assaggiato il suo piatto, ma la mia tartare era veramente fantastica. Come secondo abbiamo ordinato due tagliate con lardo e rosmarino, davvero tenere e saporite e soprattutto cotte benissimo. Visto che era tutto buonissimo abbiamo preso anche un contorno di patate al forno e cantucci con vin santo come dessert. Con acqua e mezzo rosso della casa abbiamo speso 120 euro, sicuramente non è economico ma garantisco che li vale tutti perchè ho mangiato davvero benissimo. Abbiamo apprezzato il fatto che il titolare ci abbia regalato un sacchetto di dolcetti. E' uno dei migliori ristoranti in Val d'Orcia in cui sia mai stato.

05/12/2023: situato in un punto strategico della Val d'Orcia, questo ristorante di campagna si è dimostrato essere un'ottima scelta nel rapporto qualità/prezzo. i miei pici al ragù bianco di cinta senese erano buonissimi. e anche il cinghiale in agrodolce niente male... Torneremo presto pee provare altri piatti.

18/02/2024: Ordinato torta con frutta ma pervenuta senza frutta alla crema esterna colore blu dato che avevo ordinato per un ottantesimo di compleanno ma pareva una torta di battesimo per lo più tutta colorata di azzurro e senza frutta mi sa che per me po chiudere p.s .e nemmeno di buon gusto

Then as soon as we opened the door a shabby old-fashioned place, we would have already wanted to leave there, but never judge before trying, it makes us sit in front of an old bar counter (but not ancient, old), then he brings us water and wine and then a menu arrives on a sheet of paper. Menu: gnocchi with pesto, fettuccine with ragù and something with anchovies and bread, all around €12, second courses, chicken cutlet, stew, pork chop . that's all, then we looked at each other and left... truly a very sad and poorly looked after thing... I don't recommend it to anyone who wants to eat something good in Sarteano

02/04/2024: Clean and well furnished place, the dishes were all good from starter to dessert. The portions of the fixed menus are inconsistent compared to the à la carte dishes: the gentleman at the table next to us received a more generous first course (à la carte) than the one they brought us for 4 people (we took 4 menus at €40 each) and even the fried food for 4 was really poor (in many restaurants they carry that portion for 1 person). The most annoying thing of the evening, however, was the service. It was the Saturday before Easter and they brought us the dishes at the speed of a fast-food restaurant, then they made us get up 4 times to go into the room behind our table to get the tablecloths to set the table for the next day and as if that wasn't enough at 11 the waiters started complaining to each other because we didn't leave (there was also another table). We were having dinner at a restaurant with people we don't see much to have a quiet chat without anyone having to cook. Honestly, I found it really tasteless.

We had two mixed grills of meat with a side of potatoes, a divided creme brulee, half a liter of house wine and 2 Tuscan bitters. 17/02/2024: This will be the fourth year my family will be spending a month in the area and hands down this is one of our favorites. The food is always delicious,seasonal and inventive. The staff is beyond friendly and attentive and the view cant be beaten. I’m counting down the days until they open..
