05/04/2024: Fiorentina steak is all over town, but you don't have to pay a fortune to eat it. Walking through the streets of Florence, we saw that the steak menu at this place was cheap and the portion of meat was a little smaller than what you usually see, something that interested us so as not to end up rolling. It is highly recommended to have dinner here, it has a good atmosphere and the workers are friendly.

09/05/2024: My wife and I stumbled on this place one evening as we explored Florence. It is somewhat unassuming, and we were about to walk on by when the incredibly charismatic Claudio suddenly appeared. They had no tables available, but his friendly demeanour caused us to stop for a chat. He assured us a table would be ready soon and in return for waiting a few moments, he offered a free cup of wine! After a brief wait Claudio brought us to our table and we were introduced to our server, Dovi. He is a very friendly young man, originally from the beautiful country of Albania. He provided us with a level of service that goes far beyond what one would expect. To say we were treated like royalty would be an understatement. I know a few reviews mentioned feeling slighted because they did not speak Italian but that was not our experience. We are from Canada and do not speak a lick of Italian. If anything, they made is feel like we were locals who had been coming there for years. Beyond the exceptional service, the food was equally amazing. Despite very reasonable prices, the portions were huge, and the quality was top notch. My Florentine steak was absolutely massive and was prepared perfectly. We also had pasta, wine, charcuterie, and a bean side dish, all of which were excellent. We finished off this memorable meal with a nice dessert accompanied by cappuccino which Dovi made extra special with a shot of Amaro Nardini. I do not usually spend this much time on a review, but I feel compelled to share just how excellent this place is. We dined at many great restaurants during our time in Italy, some much fancier, but this one is at the top of our list! If you find yourself in Florence please drop by and experience all this wonderful restaurant has to offer.

03/05/2024: My wife and I, who went without a reservation, and our little Schnauzer (welcomed with pleasure by the staff and owner) waited 15 minutes in line before entering the restaurant but it was worth it

06/04/2024: Very touristy but as a Florentine I can say that we didn't eat badly. Steak tender and tasty, side dishes not bad either. High prices for a basic location (hard benches, paper placemat) and service that isn't exactly well-prepared for meat...

06/04/2024: A Florence must visit. It’s got a wild vibe. Great food as well.. and the best house wine 🍷 of our trip. The mushroom soufflé was exceptional - so insanely flavourful. Wild boar pappardelle was 👌. As was everything else. Book way in advance of your trip (esp for dinner).

06/04/2024: It was really a good dining experience. We didn't have a reservation, but they managed to seat us within 30 minutes. The waiters were really helpful and gave excellent recommendations. Would definitely recommend this place if you want some really good and authentic food.

06/04/2024: We just had the most fantastic lunch at Que Ganzi. We ordered both pasta specials and they truly were special. The linguine with clams and bottarga had the finest, juiciest clams. The ravioli with duck sauce was so rich and flavorful. We asked Domenico, the owner (?) to recommend a wine and we had the most delicious Tuscan wine that was Merlot and Syrah grapes, not the usual Sangiovese. We bought a bottle to take home. Aside from delicious food and wonderful service, the prices are beyond reasonable. We highly recommend the dinner menu, also available Saturday and Sunday lunch. We also recommend the weekday lunch menu that has the same quality but at a very low price.

07/04/2024: Very Touristic. Below average bisteca, tasteless sides and slow service. It is better to avoid this place and try real Tuscan food elsewhere.

06/04/2024: Food was generally excellent. Service average. Atmosphere left a lot to be desired. We reserved in advance, like everyone else, and seating was pre done with names on table. The front section has tables between the wait staff area, bathroom and desk where the host sits answering the phone. For ~ 100 euro per person I wouldn't sit in that area. I'll be back in Florence soon but don't think I'd go back here unless I could guarantee not being stuck in the cheap seats (virtually all foreigners, mostly Asians, relegated to this area) Based on atmosphere and service I'd say it's a bit over rated.

06/04/2024: Our second trip to Il Chianti... We were there a few years ago, and remembered it well. 2nd time, we stayed outside Rome, and travelled especially to eat here. Had the cheese & meat platter - which was delicious, artichoke pasta, and the arrabiatta pasta. Finished with the Tiramisu. All was delicious

05/04/2024: The food here is molto buono. I’ve gone back several times since staying in the Oltrarno area. There is always a line to get in, so get there before it opens. With reduced size plates available I can handle a secondi when I’m solo. Mangia! 😋🐙🍷🍝

07/05/2024: PASSWORD "NO" We book a table for 6 for dinner, we arrive and the waiter takes us to the table, leaves the menus. We decide to make 6 fixed meat menus (proposed on the first page of the menu). The waiter arrives and we order a drink, ready to order food the waiter goes away. He comes back after a while, we say we want 6 meat menus and the waiter, without giving too many explanations, replies flatly "NO". We point out to him that it was written on the menu and he continues to always reply with "NO" and goes away. The explanation comes from the other waiter who brought us the red wine (the meat menu is only available at lunch). Then we decide to all have pizza. Appetizers of supplì (bland), cod fillet (good), courgette flowers, French fries (without salt). Decent pizza but nothing exceptional. We ask for a large coke (they don't have large bottles). The table was placed in front of an exit door from which cold air entered. Sin.

07/04/2024: What can I say... Sublime culinary experience. The Florentine is 'spectino'...spectacular location within the castle walls. Top staff.. Everything perfectly perfect! I highly recommend it. I hope to return one day! "Those Venetians, from Verona!"

07/04/2024: We had Easter Monday lunch. The service was good, they explained the dishes on the menu and some off the menu perfectly. The quality of the cuisine is of a good level... "The ossobuco was excellent"
