03/04/2024: The discovery you don't expect! Now resigned to an Easter in the area with everything closed, the Horta Grill Bar was the revelation that allowed us to have an excellent Easter lunch. Excellent quality food and raw materials (the lemon jam served on the cutting board was exceptional to say the least) but the difference was made by the service: all the staff were very kind, extremely helpful and extremely attentive. When we return to the area it will be an obligatory stop!

03/04/2024: Fabulous I have been going to this restaurant for a year now. I'm happy to have known it because it has become my favorite and very high-level restaurant in Tarquinia. What can I say: very kind staff, ready to explain any doubts about the cuts of meat, I found a magnificent wine list with a lot of choice, from moderately priced wines to superlative wines of the highest quality. The location is fabulous, elegant, with attention to detail and above all the cleanliness should not be underestimated, everything is extremely clean and tidy. I went to eat in the cellar, a wonderful dinner in a truly enchanting atmosphere, soft lights hidden among an infinite number of wines, I recommend if there are two of you to go there once. The quality of the food was truly excellent, we ate the barzotto egg as an appetizer, very good and an explosion of flavours, absolutely worth trying. We preferred to go for meat given the great variety of choice, and above all also the possibility of seeing it and choosing it at the entrance, inside some beautiful maturers. We took the Carima, a meat with a moderate flavour, neither too strong nor tasteless, truly a specialty. Another thing that I found excellent is that you have the possibility of cooking it at the table: the chef brings you a stone and you have the possibility of cooking it however you want. Mouth-watering desserts, most of the desserts are made by them, we took the chocolate and eggnog cake with amaretti biscuits, both special. On balance I have to say that it was excellent, excellent quality for the price. Compared to other restaurants specializing in cuts of meat, I must say that due to the excellent meat they have, starting from Carima, Japanese Wagyu, Spanish Rubia, Galician, Simmental, Fatty Prime, it was truly one of the restaurants with a truly excellent price and right for what you eat. The owner is truly kind and courteous, always ready to satisfy all customers to make them satisfied with the culinary experience they have chosen to come and try and have.

03/04/2024: We went to this place on Easter Sunday. We booked in advance asking if there was the possibility of a fixed menu. We were told no. The table behind had a set menu. Mysteries...when ordering we asked for loose wine. We were told no. The table behind had loose wine on the table. We asked for an explanation and were told that we had to ask first. But when we booked the table we were not told anything. When we asked for a fixed menu we were told no. Why if you could do it instead? I would like to underline that the dishes arrived wrong. Maybe it's better that he tries asking his collaborators. An extra plate of bruschetta arrived, an extra second course, a wrong dessert and TWO times limoncello was brought (which wasn't even limoncello) instead of grappa. So to say that it was promptly replaced doesn't seem right to me. An owner who responds to a negative criticism from a customer by laughing in his face doesn't seem professional at all to me, on the contrary..... Maybe your philosophy is: who cares about negative customer comments, most of the reviews are positive. Sometimes in life you need to question yourself. Your answers, dear owner, are unprofessional and full of touchiness and even a hint of rudeness.

01/04/2024: Restaurant in the historic center of Tarquinia, a stone's throw from the cathedral and the museum. Nothing to say about the food, cooked well even if there were no exclamation point dishes. Ambience and service left something to be desired. Yesterday, therefore not in summer, a 9-seat table placed one meter in front of the entrance door, with all the smokers coming in and out continuously, without a shred of counterpart or air curtain, is one thing which denotes neglect towards some of the customers. Moving on to the service, beyond the wrong or extra courses (!) and the grappas exchanged for limoncello, no one was able to explain to us why someone (the locals?) could order the wine in bulk and someone else (the tourists?) had to force you to order the most expensive bottled wine. The price? 53 euros each. What to say? Cross above....

01/04/2024: Mainly a hamburger and pizzeria, the SunMarco restaurant is also an excellent place for aperitifs with generous platters. The sandwiches, we took several, all very juicy and delicious. Even the ones with fish were a pleasant surprise. The pizzas are also excellent and come in various flavours. Friendly and helpful staff. We'll be back

(joviality clearly reserved for friends or relatives who frequently visit the venue itself) Not to return.

28/01/2024: Indirizzati in questo ristorante su consiglio di amici del posto, siamo rimasti fortemente delusi, e più deludente è stato l'atteggiamento della signora che ci ha servito, e poi abbiamo capito essere la titolare del locale, che per la qualità del cibo. È scattata subito una scintilla di antipatia nei nostri confronti, culminata addirittura con commenti ai pochi avanzi lasciati nei piatti a cui avremmo voluto volentieri ribattere con altrettanta maleducazione e stizzositá, ma siamo persone educate. Il massimo è stato essere tacciati di ignoranza, avrei girato i tacchi e me ne sarei andata subito ma ero ospite. Il menu è anche accattivante, ma i piatti non sono niente di particolare, abbiamo ordinato dei primi fuori menù che avevano tutti lo stesso sapore, e la carne brasata era in realtà brodosa e acquosa, per nulla saporita. Abbiamo notato che per i clienti repeaters l'atteggiamento era molto diverso, evidentemente si è ritenuto di garantirsi i vecchi clienti e di non puntare su nuovi. Oppure siamo capitati in un giorno "no" ma questo non giustifica la mancanza di professionalità. Peccato, per fortuna Tarquinia offre molte altre proposte. Sconsigliatissimo
