05/10/2023: Awesome lounge bar / beach club just on outskirts of Monopoli. We went in early October so was lovely and quiet, 25 euro for 2 waterfront comfy beds, great facilities and direct access to the water via steps. Food here is also very good!

04/10/2023: A quiet spot 5 minutes from the old port, where to relax for a drink or take a dip. To access the deckchair and swimming area, 25 euros in low season. Otherwise, free access to the lounge bar area, where you can sit very comfortably on the sofas.

07/04/2024: I don't understand this restaurant. The food was good, I enjoyed the plate of grilled fish and seafood. Perfect cooking but be careful served without accompaniment. The waiters were haughty, as if in a hurry to get rid of us (maybe because we were in hiking clothes!?). Restaurant that claims to be ''chic'' but which lets in bracelet sellers who ''stagnate'' between the tables, kicking the chairs and who bother us even when we are served and eating. A lot of effort to be made in the gym.

27/03/2024: 03.19.2024, we surprisingly entered La Locanda sul Porto in Monopoli, the staff was courteous, attentive and helpful, the external environment was pleasant, fresh and bright, the dishes were presented very well, beautiful to the eye and tasty to the palate, congratulations . delicious desserts. (small note for the explanations of the dishes, a moment more slowly for non-local people) I will definitely return. Thank you and greetings.

29/03/2024: Unfortunately, the biggest culinary disappointment from our short stay in Monopoli and the surrounding area. The other places were great or very good. Tempted by good ratings on Google Maps and the recommendation of our hostess, we went to dinner at Ii Guazzetto. Service: sitting down at the table, we ordered sparkling water, unfortunately we received water without carbonation and it took us a very long time to get the attention of any waiter to change the water. After taking the order, the waiter asked us to change the table and move to a much less pleasant place. After waiting for the oysters I ordered as an appetizer, I learned that they no longer had them, although they continued to distribute cold appetizers containing oysters around the restaurant for a long time. The waiters were absent most of the time when we expected their interest. Food: The flagship dish I ordered was Il Guazzetto Zuppa do Pesce - the taste was correct, tomato-fishy, ​​but without any particular note worth remembering. (I often order it in different places, so I can compare it a lot). The disappointment was the size of the shrimps and other crustaceans in the soup - especially compared to the photo on the website. Maneuvering inside them to extract the contents required not a fork but some kind of microsurgery tool! Fried cod in batter is served with sweet and sour Asian sauce - it looks like it's ready from the bottle. The only thing that stood out was the grilled shrimps ordered by my husband - they were very tasty. However, after a series of failures, his vigilance was reduced and he decided to have dessert. Crema catalana, which should be at room temperature in a compact consistency - only burnt with a blowtorch from above to break through the crust with a spoon, had a boiling point and a flowing consistency (heated completely before serving?) and the outer layer immediately stuck to the entire surface. teaspoons. We won't come back.

17/03/2024: Super mega hyper unfriendly staff. We arrived before 12:30 and were told that EVERYTHING was booked except for 4 tables outside and the service would start at 12:30... It started at 12:40, the food was good but not soooo good, with good will : it was normal. Everything came without salt, no one was there to help, waiters only went outside to smoke. I had to go into the restaurant to ask for salt, I found 3 waitresses laughing and talking and surprise: not even half of the tables were occupied... Another revolting thing: THE SHRIMP COMES DIRTY WITH THE GUTS, HEAD AND EVERYTHING DISGUSTING that comes with it... . So Brazilians, think carefully about whether it's worth leaving your rich euros in a place that mistreats tourists and serves dirty shrimp...

13/01/2024: A myth for the Monopolitans. Self service and friendly, fast staff. Rustic environment not very large. Excellent panzerotti. Thin but tasty pizza, affordable prices. Ciro has been working for over 20 years.

07/04/2024: Very positive experience. We ate well and there were a fair number of us with children. The service was excellent but above all the owner was up to the task. He knew how to entertain the little girls (who couldn't stay calm at the table) allowing us to enjoy dinner in good harmony. Normally children are filmed, but in this case the opposite happened. I really appreciated this aspect. Obviously I don't know about the quality of the food either. I would stay here again.

04/04/2024: Beautiful trattoria in the heart of the historic center of Monopoli. Very polite owner, he was able to advise us especially on the quantity of dishes. Really good fish dishes, accompanied by a nice Rosé wine. Rustic Apulian-style environment, excellent cleanliness, fair prices... I highly recommend the guys from SALERNO next time

03/03/2024: July 2023. What an amazing little gem. Just 8 minutes walk from Via Garibaldi in Old Town. Just far enough off the tourist track to be a true local hangout. I was served some of the best food of all time during my stay in Monopoli. I onestly can't rate it highly enough. The staff were amazing, the food was tasty and menu prices were very fair and affordable. Looks nothing from the outside don't let that put you off visiting. It's March 2024 and I'm still thinking about the beautiful meal I had here and wishing this restaurant was in Dublin not Italy. Like a form of homesickness.
