05/01/2024: Ristorante un po’ fuori dal centro di Spoleto ma ne vale davvero la pena di spostarsi e poi c’è anche il parcheggio. Personale accogliente e sala elegante quanto basta senza fronzoli ed esagerazioni. Ottimi gli antipasti e i primi piatti con materie prime locali. Lo consiglio vivamente anche per l’ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

05/01/2024: Al ritorno da Spoleto verso Assisi, quasi casualmente siamo passati davanti a questo locale, entrati ci accoglie il titolare Moreno con l'ospitalità che pochi sanno dare. La cena è stata ottima dal antipasto agli strangozzi con tartufi, alla tagliata tenerissima, al formaggio servito con miele e tartufo un contrasto delizioso, per finire un tiramisù ...anche il prezzo è stato più che ragionevole. Grazie ancora per l'ottima cena purtroppo abitando a Genova passerà un pò di tempo prima di ritornarci.

01/04/2024: Beautiful place, with a beautiful view, beautiful park and beautiful restaurant. Delicious dishes, very friendly and helpful staff!!! Great ideas, beautiful and ongoing projects and events! Place open to families and children, associations and individuals!!! There are vegetable gardens, animals and the beautiful donkey Camillo, a great mascot!!!

10/12/2023: Absolutely recommended experience. Admirable project, exquisite food, generous portions and we loved the choice of menu (the gnocchi and polenta with wild boar won us over), kind staff and welcoming location, all with attention to detail. We also became fond of the donkey Camillo. We hope to return to your area soon!

06/04/2024: “Menu a Sorpesa” is a great concept which transforms a meal into a real experience, and here it was for a very fair and decent price. We enjoyed all the dishes served. We loved the informal atmosphere as well as the unique, eclectic design. We felt right at home in this family run eating place and want to give special thanks to Filippo for his friendliness and hospitality. We highly recommend Osteria del Matto at Piazza del Mercato in Spoleto. If you can’t find it there, just ask locals as we did:)

11/02/2024: The best homemade food restaurant where I have eaten here in Italy. A little hidden place, without advertising, on a road that goes towards Spoleto, from Terni. The lady (owner) of the restaurant attended to us in a very friendly manner, satisfying all our needs because my wife had celiac disease and was a vegetarian. We ate a good hand-cut ham, bruschetta al tartufo, incredible homemade Suppli 🫢!!! Gluten-free Tagliatella with truffle was delicious, but especially the fresh vegetables they brought us were brutal!!!! Sautéed chicory, stewed and fried artichokes, a true delight. Flavors I had forgotten. Desserts also homemade with chocolate and pear cake, tiramisu. Really cheap bill for the level of products we ate. The restaurant makes everything in house and by hand from the pasta to the desserts. A discovery. See you in November God willing.

31/03/2024: I understand that mistakes can be made, but if you don't apologize and don't show your face they become unforgivable. We show up at the venue at 9pm after booking in advance. We order 2 first courses, a bottle of wine, 1 second course and 2 side dishes. The bottle of wine is forgotten, we ask for it and it arrives. We wait 1 hour and 30 minutes for the first course, we ask the waiter who at that moment arrives with the second course and a side dish, but there is no trace of the first course. The waiter also takes the second one back. I don't question it, a mistake can happen to anyone but after that mistake a solution must be found. Nobody apologizes to us, nobody cares about our problem, they say only the first ones are doing it. After we get up hungry and tired of waiting, coincidentally no one is in the room at that moment. We wait and telling the waiter that we are tired of waiting and waiting without eating anything, he apologizes. The staff demonstrated a completely disinterested attitude towards the customer, various solutions could have been found, rather than having a customer leave their premises at 10.40pm without having eaten anything. You don't treat customers like that.

30/03/2024: I have eaten his Porchetta sandwiches in Piazza Mercato multiple times. They are the best. If you want an authentic Porchetta sandwich, this is the one.

A young pig is roasted whole, similar to, but not the same as, the suckling pig known in Germany, as the latter are usually smaller. The meat is sliced ​​and usually eaten cold in a roll.

13/02/2024: Entriamo in questo ristorante un po' per caso un po' per necessità, visto che erano le 14.15 di martedì, e in giro non c'era una vasta scelta di locali. Sala piccola, intima e raccolta, eravamo da soli e il proprietario era seduto al tavolo di fianco al nostro con diverse scartoffie davanti. Poca privacy, ma piacevole il sottofondo musicale jazz Prendiamo un antipasto di bruschette al tartufo al modico prezzo di 30 euro, ma ci arriva qualche crostino con unabcrema spalmabile che di tartufo aveva ben poco, inesistente. Tra i primi buono lo gnocco con broccoli e salsiccia, bocciato invece gli strangozzi ai funghi porcini. Decisamente caro rispetto alla qualità dei piatti offerti. Non ci tornerei
