14/04/2024: First time at the La Barrique Restaurant in Santa Croce di Boretto. We had high expectations given by the reviews and friends who recommended it to us. "Family" environment, the restaurant is a converted house/villa and it fits, but it seemed a little too spartan to me. the level of cuisine and consequently the prices are medium/high level so I was hoping for more characterization in the place. really great service! We will definitely be back to try other dishes, which are the ones that really count in the end and the food is good here! 😊

I had the opportunity to try some of their meat dishes, including a truly delicious venison fillet with berry sauce. La Baita D'Oro also boasts an excellent selection of wines, with a wide choice of national and international labels. You can order wine by the glass, which is a great way to sample different varieties without having to buy an entire bottle. There were 6 of us, each waiter brought one pizza at a time and the first person waited at least 3/4 minutes before at least another pizza arrived. They didn't welcome us by asking us if we wanted a drink, I had to call them. They put us in the cold expanse and the pellet stove was off. They brought us an extra beer, but given the situation we kept it anyway..
